Horsehead and Flame nebula in Orion

Getting better! It just takes time.

HorseHead and Flame nebula

Using an 80mm Astrotech telescope I have on loan, and my new ZWO 294 pro, I’m finally able to improve one of my favorite hobbies.

Orion is one of my favorite constellations in the night sky. It’s filled with several bright and popular nebulas. This is one…. actually two of some of the most popular objects. The Flame nebula to the left and the Horsehead to the right. The large star on the upper left section is the star Alnitak. This star is the left most star in Orions Belt.

This image was taken on back in mid Dec 2023. 12 5 min exposures with my ZWO ASI294 color camera, along with 10 dark and 10 flat frames. I used an Astrotech AT80ED telescope along with my Celestron AVX mount. I used NINA to capture, ASTAP to stack and Photoshop to process.

I’ve been doing astrophotography for a few years. Now with better gear and more experience, I can really take my hobby to the next level.
